Recommendation: Lori Wilson
Lori Wilson has represented Solano County in the Assembly since 2022. She has supported bringing shipbuilding and advanced manufacturing investment to Solano County, and she has said she wants the county to compete for the federal and private shipbuilding investment now being made. She is endorsed by the California Federation of Labor Unions and by California YIMBY, a group focused on building more housing.
Her challenger, Jenny Leilani Callison, is a veteran and former legislative staffer. Her campaign has focused on the cost of living and on reducing regulation for small businesses. She has raised little money, has no legislative record to evaluate, and did not respond to local press requests for an interview.
Wilson’s support has centered on a proposed shipyard at Collinsville rather than Mare Island. We would like to see her put the same energy into Mare Island, where the state has already invested in a Maritime Innovation Campus with Cal Poly Maritime Academy.
